Tap Into New Mexico Craft Tour

Please join Jubilation in supporting New Mexico breweries, wineries, and distilleries with an awesome worthy-cause tasting on Friday, September 20th from 4 pm – 6 pm. The Tap Into New Mexico Craft Tour is benefiting Roadrunner Food Bank, and is accepting donations of non-perishable food items during the tasting. Help Jubilation welcome Tammy Lovato, Rep of Libation Nation/Off-Site Event & Festival Coordinator of Marble Brewing, Javier Barba of DH Lescombes Winery, and Leif West, Sales Director NM of Santa Fe Spirits, to give you a Taste of New Mexico!

Tammy from Marble will be tasting their brand-new seltzers hot off the canning line, with incredible flavors Raspberry Key Lime and Cucumber Key Lime, both unabashedly bubbly, 4.5% ABV, 0 grams of sugar, 100 calories, and gluten free. That’s right, gluten free!

We’ll also be tasting from Marble:

The much-anticipated Pumpkin Noir – The black seductive spicy ale sidles from the shadows of Grandma’s Kitchen to tease your darker desires.

The popular Desert Fog – She has a hazy glow resembling the beautiful accumulation of early morning fog kissed by the orange juice-hued Southwestern desert sunrise and smells of pineapple-grapefruit juice perfume. Single can 16oz. option Cerveza crafted with character, the unabashedly crushable take on a Mexican-style lager.

The delicious Double White Triple Berry – Made with a blend of boysenberry, blueberries, and raspberries.

Javier from DH Lescombes Winery (formerly known as St. Clair Winery) will be tasting St. Clair Reserve Chardonnay 2017 – A highly palatable wine endowed with a bouquet of vanilla, almond, hazelnut, and mild floral notes with flavors of toasted oak, butter, and hints of stone fruit. The decadent, creamy texture cut with smooth acidity lends a complexity to this dynamic wine normally found in far more expensive wines. Made in the French style of winemaking, two types of barrel-aging were utilized to give the wine a rounder, buttery mouthfeel, with 80% undergoing malolactic fermentation and 20% being aged sur lie.

St. Clair Reserve Chenin Blanc 2017 – This is a beautiful wine with a light, golden chartreuse hue and a nose of acidic pineapple, pear, and honeydew melon with slight minerality. Bright, tart green apple dominates the flavor profile and finishes with hints of kiwi, this wine is surprisingly flavorful for as light as it is. Fresh, mellow flavors make this a great wine to cook with when the recipe calls for a dry white wine, as well a crowd-pleasing sipper wine.

St. Clair Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 – Look out wine connoisseurs! D.H. Lescombes’ New Mexican Cabernet Sauvignon can hold its own! Velvety and luscious with a dynamic nose of toast, smoke, roasted hazelnuts, caramel, and hints of chocolate, with a diverse flavor profile marked by sturdy tannins that soften as the wine has a chance to breathe. Flavors include dark plum, dried cranberry, toast, jammy, ripe, red berries with meaty notes and a pleasant acidic and tannic finish.

DH Lescombes Imperial Kir – The grapes for this wine are picked early, at 19/20 brix, to keep them naturally crisp, acidic, and lower in sugar. Imperial Kir is based on the ‘Kir Imperiale’, a drink first made popular in the late 1800s, and still enjoyed today. Our crisp, bubbly wine gets a touch of natural raspberry that makes the wine semi-sweet. It boasts a beautiful, light rose color and a crisp flavor profile composed of ripe, juicy raspberries with a hint of melon.

Soleil Mimosa Classic and Pomegranate – Whether setting up brunch, splashing poolside, or lounging in a hammock, Soleil Mimosa Classic is perfect for any occasion. Lush, fresh-squeezed orange juice mingles with crisp white wine, adorned with light effervescence, giving you a perfectly blended, no-fuss Mimosa with every pour. A juicy, refreshing wine that’s sure to tickle your taste buds with its subtle hints of white flowers and orange zest. Gently tilt the bottle to mix, pop the top and enjoy!

Dazzle your eyes with the sparkly, raspberry hues from juice of the all-enticing pomegranate. Combined with premium, crisp, dry white wine and fresh-squeezed orange juice, Soleil Mimosa Pomegranate strikes the perfect balance between sweet and tart, with hints of honey and cranberry. Although a pleasure any time of year, it makes a particularly delightful addition to festive fall dinner affairs.

Leif from Santa Fe Spirits will be tasting Expedition American West Vodka – The absolute best vodka using some of the Southwest’s oldest native resources: maize and Sangre de Cristo mountain water. Expedition Vodka has a smooth mouth feel and clean, mellow taste. It is superb when used for classic cocktails.

Wheeler’s Western Dry Gin – Unparalleled flavor marries bold complexity with sincere terroir. When enjoyed neat, hop flowers and osha root create a vibrant aroma that is a delightful interplay of bright fruit and spice. Upon a solid foundation of juniper, the short-lived, frail, magenta flowers of a local cactus contribute a one-of-a-kind flavor reminiscent of cucumber, but chock full of sweet nectar and delicate perfume. Then, just as the distinct hues of a desert sunset combine to form a single, spectacular view, the various aromas and flavors of Wheeler’s unite in a pleasant finish with a hint of sage, leaving one to contemplate the unending list of cocktails that would benefit from this adventurous gin and the subtle flavors of the Southwest.

Colkegan Single Malt Select Barrel #58 – Apple Brandy Finished – Jubilation’s own barrel – For this expression of Colkegan Single Malt Whiskey, Santa Fe Spirits takes Colkegan from select aged barrels and transfers it to freshly emptied Apple Brandy barrels, where it continues to age for a minimum of one year. This mellows and sweetens the Colkegan, resulting in a whiskey that Whisky Advocate described as having “soft and juicy aromas of ginger juice, apple tart, strawberry shortcake, and light, sweet smoke.” with “a good deal of apple, poached pear, marmalade and light smoke” on the palate, and which they awarded 89 points.

Santa Fe Spirits Apple Brandy – By blending his own apples with the fruit of neighboring New Mexico orchards, Colin has finally achieved his goal of producing Santa Fe Apple Brandy for the general public. Overtones of apple peel, vanilla, fruit, and cinnamon yield to hints of granitic earth, sweet water, and dry air. Each bottle is truly a treasure: a gift from the Keegan family for your enjoyment.

Atapino Pinon Liqueur – Santa Fe Spirits roasts the piñon nuts and puts them into a barrel to soak in Silver Coyote single malt white whiskey for two months to extract the essence of the piñon. At the top of Atalaya mountain, nearly 2,000 feet above Santa Fe, Ponderosa trees sway in the breeze. Their resin also gives off scents of vanilla and pine. Jeffery collected this resin and used it to sweeten Atapiño and give it the flavor of the Mountain West.
